THOMASVILLE, N.C. – Leaders from Novant Health gathered with members of the community Tuesday to celebrate the opening of Novant Health Wellness & Education Thomasville, a multispecialty outpatient facility in Davidson County.
The new healthcare facility, located on the corner of Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center’s campus, is designed to expand access to needed services – including behavioral health, diabetes management, lactation support for new moms, occupational medicine and physical therapy – for patients across its rural communities.
“This new wellness space redefines holistic care in Davidson County by extending our reach beyond the traditional walls of the hospital,” said Chris Brown, president and chief operating officer of Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center. “We’re focused on providing proactive, community-based support that empowers our patients to lead healthier lives. Ultimately, we want our patients to know that they’re not alone, and that we’re here to provide expert care, resources and encouragement as they work toward their individual healthcare goals.”
The 18,000-square-foot building, formerly home to the local health department, recently underwent a complete renovation made possible by $2 million in philanthropic support from donors through the Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center Foundation. The reimagined, modern space is well-equipped to address a wide variety of community health needs in Davidson County.
