Sierra, a sister retailer of neighboring discount brand-name stores like TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, and Marshalls, is opening up shop in Coralville for all things outdoors.
The new store in Coralville will hold its grand opening on Saturday, Nov. 15, in the Coral North Shopping Center, in the former Bed Bath and Beyond space. Sierra joins fellow TJX brand, TJ Maxx, in the strip mall, along with well-known retailers like Burlington, Petco, Michaels, and Dollar Tree.
"We're thrilled to continue growing in the state with our new Coralville location, reaching the greater Iowa community," said Amanda Johnson, Assistant Vice President, Marketing Director of Sierra, in a news release. "Our goal is to help more people embrace active living by offering great value on the gear and apparel from brands they love. We can't wait to join the Coralville community this holiday season and beyond."

Sierra offers items customers might need for camping, hiking, yoga, skiing, climbing, or running. Shoppers can pick up snow boots and skis, backpacks and travel gear, fishing rods and reels, baseball gloves and soccer balls, or tents and hunting knives. The store even offers seasonal products, including lightweight joggers, rain jackets, fitness gear, running shoes, and more.
The grand opening starts at 8 a.m. Saturday.
Sierra also made a $10,000 donation to House Into Homes, a local Johnson County organization that provides furniture and household items to families and individuals exiting homelessness, domestic violence, and other crisis situations.
Sierra's eastern Iowa debut is the brand's fifth in the state, with 142 stores nationwide. Sierra also has stores in Dubuque, West Des Moines, Sioux City, and Council Bluffs.
