EASTERN IOWA (Iowa's News Now) — Nine tornadoes touched down across eastern Iowa apart of Friday's severe storm system.
A strong EF2 tornado was confirmed between Center Point and Alburnett in Linn County, with peak winds of 120 mph.
The tornado was on the ground for 6.75 miles and damaged several home and farmsteads in its path.
Many trees were also snapped as well as power poles downed.
Another tornado touched down southwest of Center Point in eastern Benton County and was on the ground for four miles, moving into Linn County.
The tornado was rated an EF1, with peak winds of 95 mph.
Damage was mainly to trees, but a few homes and garages had roof damage.
Another tornado was found to have started in Linn County, east of Central City and moved into Jones County, before lifting around Langworthy.
The tornado was rated an EF1, with peak winds of 100 mph. It was on the ground for nearly 12.5 miles.
Large trees were found snapped in several locations along the tornadoes path and there was roof damage done to a mobile home.
There was also another tornado confirmed in northeast Jones County.
The EF1 tornado started near Scotch Grove and moved through the wooded areas of northeast Jones County, causing significant tree damage along the Maquoketa River.
The tornado was on the ground for 10 miles and had peak winds of 100 mph.
A fifth tornado touched down in Benton County between the towns of Keystone and Van Horne.
This tornado was rated an EF1, with peak winds of 105 mph.
The tornado was on the ground for less than a mile, but caused damaged to a farm outbuilding, a house and a garage.
A sixth tornado was confirmed in southern Dubuque County, near the town of Bernard, and was rated an EF1.
The 0.8 mile long tornado had peak wind speeds of 95 mph and caused damage to trees and a county road maintenance shed in Bernard.
This tornado was surrounded by straight line wind damage with winds from 80 to 90 mph.
A seventh tornado was found in northern Jackson County to the northeast of La Motte.
The National Weather Service said there was evidence of an EF2 multiple vortex tornado that was on the ground for over 2.5 miles.
The most intense damage was to a large farm building that lost it`s entire roof, along with half of its walls.
A metal power power was bent and a few wooden power poles were snapped off.
Two other tornadoes were confirmed near the Quad Cities on the Iowa side of the river.
An EF2 tornado was found to have moved through the west side of Davenport.
This tornado was on the ground for over 7.5 miles.
A second tornado was found near the city of Le Claire and rated an EF0.
