Mayor Vergano and the Health Department’s Senior and Social Services Division are happy to announce the success of Wayne Township's holiday-giving initiative. Through the remarkable generosity of Wayne Township employees, residents, and organizations, we provided essential support and holiday gifts to many families and children in need. Key contributors include:
Wayne Township employees who personally purchased and wrapped gifts for over 30 qualifying children.
Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church supported 11 families with generous Thanksgiving baskets.

Anthony Wayne, American Legion Post 174, adopted a qualifying family and provided food for their family and presents for the children.
Howard Hanna Rand Realty, through the leadership of its branch administrator, Edie Williams, and her colleagues, provided three families with Thanksgiving food baskets and Christmas gifts, fulfilling their children’s holiday wishes.
Lion’s Head Lake community, led by Ellen Fattal, orchestrated a collaborative toy drive with Fire Co. #3 and the Wayne Girl Scouts, ensuring multiple toys for each child on the Department of Social Services’ list of qualifying children.
Melissa Hering and her family shopped for and delivered enough food to last a month for two qualifying families.
Wayne Seventh Day Adventist Church prepared 21 comprehensive food baskets with ShopRite gift cards, supporting 13 qualifying families and eight home-bound Sisco Village seniors.
We were lucky to receive extra assistance from a few helpful Township employees and an anonymous donor whose support made this year’s community outreach particularly impactful.
Thank you, and happy, healthy, and prosperous 2025 to all!
