Home Care Lakeville, CT

They say that your golden years are the best years of your life. For most older Americans, that's how it should be - a time to relax, reflect, and live life in a familiar place. After all, senior citizens in the U.S. have worked tirelessly to build a better economy, serve their communities, and raise families.

However, as seniors grow older, completing daily tasks like showering and enjoying activities such as visiting the historic Lakeville Historical Museum gets harder without someone by their side. Unfortunately, many older Americans aren't able to rely on their adult children for help. The reality in today's world is that family members do not have the skills or time to dedicate to caring for their parents. That's where Always Best Care Senior Services comes in.

Our in-home care services are for people who prefer to stay at home as they grow older but need ongoing care that family or friends cannot provide. More and more older adults prefer to live far away from long-term, institutionalized facilities and closer to the place where they feel most comfortable - their home. “Dear Rick, Over the past three plus years, my father Joseph Ceuch has lived at home assisted by the caregivers from your company Always Best Care of Greater Bristol. This letter is a personal thank you from my father and the entire Ceuch family on how your caregivers treated and attended to my father during this time. The caregivers became part of our extended family who shared in countless family events resulting in beautiful lasting memories. Caregivers Frances Boateng, Jeremy Turner, and Yanice Hernandez were awesome in their care of my father. I want to especially acknowledge Francis as a person who went above and beyond his responsibility and became part of the Ceuch inner circle. It was not uncommon for Francis on his off days to stop by during a family picnic to say hello...he is truly loved by my father. Again, I want to thank you for the loving care your caregivers provided my father. I would highly recommend your company to anyone interested in having a caregiver attend to a loved one. Thanks again”

She was always cooking wonderful homemade meals and desserts and I was happy to see how happy she made Daryl. I think she is a wonderful asset to Always Best Care. “Our sister, Barbara has early-onset dementia , and was in sudden need of a personal care assistant until placement in a quality skilled nursing facility became available. We reached out to home health care agencies in her local area but, by this point, had already worked with several agencies for med reminders for Barbara (and 24/7 care for our Mom in another area of CT) and were a bit skeptical that that we’d find one that could provide consistent quality of care. When I spoke with Rick Downey of Always Best Care Senior Services in Bristol, he conveyed both confidence in his knowledge of health care and empathy in understanding the frustrations that families experience when seeking quality care for their loved ones. We were next contacted by their care coordinator,Heather Kozikowski, who came to our sister’s home to conduct an assessment and further explain the services offered by Always Best Care.A further testament to the exceptional quality of Always Best Care is the service and care we’ve received after Barbara is no longer a client; our thanks to Always Best Care for the excellent care of our sister, and the peace-of-mind it afforded our family knowing that she was in such kind and competent hands!”

What is Non-Medical Senior Care in Lakeville, CT?

lm-check

Home is where the heart is. While that saying can sound a tad cliche, it is especially true for many seniors living in America. When given a choice, older adults most often prefer to grow older at home. An AARP study found that three out of four adults over the age of 50 want to stay in their homes and communities as they age.

lm-check

When you begin to think about why, it makes sense. Home offers a sense of security, comfort, and familiarity.

lm-check

The truth is, as we age, we begin to rely on others for help. When a family is too busy or lives too far away to fulfill this role, in-home senior care is often the best solution. Home care services allow seniors to enjoy personal independence while also receiving trustworthy assistance from a trained caregiver.

lm-check

At Always Best Care, we offer a comprehensive range of home care services to help seniors stay healthy while they get the help they need to remain independent. As your senior loved one gets older, giving them the gift of senior care is one of the best ways to show your love, even if you live far away.

Respite Care

Respite Care Services

According to AARP, more than 53 million adults living in the U.S. provide care to someone over 50 years old. Unfortunately, these caregivers experience stress, exhaustion, and even depression. Our respite care services help family caregivers address urgent obligations, spend time with their children, and enjoy nearby activities. Perhaps more importantly, respite care gives family members time to recharge and regroup. Taking personal time to de-stress reduces the risk of caregiver burnout. So, if you've always wanted to eat at the local The Boathouse At Lakeville or visit Salisbury Historic District Commission, don't feel bad. Doing so is great for both you and your loved one.

At the end of the day, our goal is to become a valuable part of your senior's daily routine. That way, we may help give them the highest quality of life possible. We know that staying at home is important for your loved one, and we are here to help make sure that is possible.

If you have been on the fence about non-medical home care, there has never been a better time than now to give your senior the care, assistance, and companionship they deserve.

Aging in Place: The Preferred Choice for Most Seniors

While it's true that some seniors have complicated medical needs that prevent them from staying at home, aging in place is often the best arrangement for seniors and their families. With a trusted caregiver, seniors have the opportunity to live with a sense of dignity and do so as they see fit - something that is unavailable to many older people today.

In-home care makes it possible for millions of seniors to age in place every year. Rather than moving to a strange nursing home, seniors have the chance to stay at home where they feel the happiest and most comfortable.

Here are just a few of the reasons why older men and women prefer to age at home:

How much does a senior's home truly mean to them?

A study published by the American Society on Aging found that more than half of seniors say their home's emotional value means more than how much their home is worth in monetary value. It stands to reason, then, that a senior's home is where they want to grow old.

With the help of elderly care in Lakeville, CT, seniors don't have to age in a sterilized care facility. Instead, they can age gracefully in the place they want to be most: their home. In contrast, seniors who move to a long-term care facility must adapt to new environments, new people, and new systems that the facility implements. At this stage in life, this kind of drastic change can be more harmful than helpful.

Institutional care facilities like nursing homes often put large groups of people together to live in one location. On any given day, dozens of staff members and caregivers run in and out of these facilities. Being around so many new people in a relatively small living environment can be dangerous for a seniors' health and wellbeing. When you consider that thousands of seniors passed away in nursing homes during the COVID-19 pandemic, opting for in-home care is often a safer, healthier choice for seniors.

Aging in place has been shown to improve seniors' quality of life, which helps boost physical health and also helps insulate them from viral and bacterial risks found in elderly living facilities.

For many seniors, the ability to live independently with assistance from a caregiver is a priceless option. With in-home care, seniors experience a higher level of independence and freedom - much more so than in other settings like a nursing home. When a senior has the chance to age in place, they get to live life on their own terms, inside the house that they helped make into a home. More independence means more control over their personal lives, too, which leads to increased levels of fulfillment, happiness, and personal gratification. Over time, these positive feelings can manifest into a healthier, longer life.

More independence, a healthier life, and increased comfort are only a few benefits of aging in place. You have to take into consideration the role of cost and convenience. Simply put, it's usually easier and more affordable to help seniors age in place than it is to move them into an institutional care facility. According to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, seniors who age in the comfort of their homes can save thousands of dollars per month.

In-home care services from Always Best Care, for instance, are often less expensive than long-term solutions, which can cost upwards of six figures per year. To make matters worse, many residential care facilities are reluctant to accept long-term care insurance and other types of payment assistance.

With Always Best Care's home care services, seniors and their families have a greater level of control over their care plans. In-home care gives seniors the chance to form a bond with a trusted caregiver and also receive unmatched care that is catered to their needs. In long-term care facilities, seniors and their loved ones have much less control over their care plan and have less of a say in who provides their care.

Affordable Care

In-home care is a valuable resource that empowers seniors to age in place on their own terms. However, a big concern for many families and their loved ones is how much in-home care costs. If you're worried that in-home care is too expensive, you may be pleasantly surprised to learn that it is one of the most affordable senior care arrangements available.

Typically, hiring an Always Best Care in-home caregiver for a few hours a week is more affordable than sending your loved one to a long-term care facility. This is true even for seniors with more complex care needs.

At Always Best Care, we will work closely with you and your family to develop a Care Plan that not only meets your care needs, but your budget requirements, too. Once we discover the level of care that you or your senior need, we develop an in-home care plan that you can afford.

In addition to our flexible care options, families should also consider the following resources to help offset potential home care costs:

If your loved one qualifies, Medicaid may help reduce in-home care costs. Review your CT's Medicaid program laws and benefits, and make sure your senior's financial and medical needs meet Medicaid eligibility requirements.
Attendance and aid benefits through military service can cover a portion of the costs associated with in-home care for veterans and their spouses.
Many senior care services like in-home care are included in long-term care insurance options. Research different long-term care solutions to find a plan that provides coverage for senior care.
Home care can be included as part of a senior's private insurance plan. Read over your loved one's insurance policy carefully or speak with their insurance provider to determine if in-home care is covered.
Depending on the life insurance plan, you may be able to apply your policy toward long-term care. You may be able to use long-term-care coverage to help pay for in-home elderly care.
 Senior Care Lakeville, CT

Compassionate Care. Trusted Caregivers.

When you or your senior loved one needs assistance managing daily tasks at home, finding a qualified caregiver can be challenging. It takes a special kind of person to provide reliable care for your senior loved one. However, a caregiver's role involves more than meal preparation and medication reminders. Many seniors rely on their caregivers for companionship, too.

Our companion care services give seniors the chance to socialize in a safe environment and engage in activities at home. These important efforts boost morale and provide much-needed relief from repetitive daily routines. A one-on-one, engaging conversation can sharpen seniors' minds and give them something in which to be excited.

At Always Best Care, we only hire care providers that we would trust to care for our own loved ones. Our senior caregivers in Lakeville, CT understand how important it is to listen and communicate with their seniors. A seemingly small interaction, like a short hug goodbye, can make a major difference in a senior's day. Instead of battling against feelings of isolation, seniors begin to look forward to seeing their caregiver each week.

Understanding the nuances of senior care is just one of the reasons why our care providers are so great at their job.

Unlike some senior care companies, our caregivers must undergo extensive training before they work for Always Best Care. In addition, our caregivers receive ongoing training throughout the year. This training ensures that their standard of care matches up to the high standards we've come to expect. During this training, they will brush up on their communication skills, safety awareness, and symptom spotting. That way, your loved one receives the highest level of non-medical home care from day one.

Assisted Living Referral Services

While it's true that many seniors prefer to age at home, sometimes in-home care isn't the best fit. For those seniors and their families, choosing an assisted living facility makes more sense. Unfortunately, finding the optimal care facility is easier said than done in today's day and age. That's when Always Best Care's assisted living referral services begin to make a lot of sense.

Assisted living is a form of housing intended for seniors who require varying degrees of medical and personal attention. Accommodations may include single rooms, apartments, or shared living arrangements. Assisted living communities are typically designed to resemble a home-like environment and are physically constructed to encourage the independence of residents.

Respite Care Lakeville, CT

At assisted living communities, seniors receive help with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating. They may also benefit from coordination of services with outside healthcare providers, and monitoring of resident activities to ensure their health, safety, and well-being. Caregivers who work at assisted living communities can also provide medication administration and personal care services for older adults.

Other services offered within assisted living communities can include some or all of the following:

  • Housekeeping
  • Laundry
  • Recreational Activities
  • Social Outings
  • Emergency Medical Response
  • Medication Monitoring
  • Family Visitation
  • Personal Care
 Caregivers Lakeville, CT

At Always Best Care, our representatives can match your senior's emotional, physical, and financial needs with viable assisted living communities nearby. Results are based on comparative data, so you can select the best choice for you or your loved one.

Always Best Care works closely with local senior living communities to gain valuable knowledge that we then use to help seniors and their loved ones make informed decisions. This information can include basic care and rent, resident availability, and services provided. Because Always Best Care is compensated by these communities, we provide senior living referral services at no extra cost to you.

Some of the most popular assisted living communities to consider in our area include the following:

  • BeeHive Homes of Lakeville
  • Suite Living Senior Care of Lakeville
  • The Moments Memory Care
  • Kingsley Shores Senior Community
  • Spero Lakeville - 55+ Independent Senior Living
  • The Fountains at Hosanna

For many seniors, moving into a senior living community revolves around how and when they want to make a transition to more involved care. Connecticut’s “bottle bill” — the commonly used phrase for a law that has been in place since 1978 — is the state’s deposit-and-return system for bottles and cans.

Certain beverages in the state carry a 5-cent deposit, redeemable at designated locations. Consumers pay the 5 cents when they buy the drink and get the money back upon returning its container.

On Jan. 1, 2024, the deposit amount doubled to 10 cents, though retailers can continue to sell bottles labeled with a 5-cent deposit that they procured prior to the deposit increase. Consumers can redeem those empties for 10 cents.

Here’s what to know about the deposit-and-return program.

What types of bottles qualify?

Most metal, glass, and plastic beverage containers are eligible for a refund if they’re between the sizes of 150mL to 3 liters for carbonated drinks and 150mL to 2.5 liters for non-carbonated beverages.

Drinks that qualify for a refund are: carbonated beverages, beer and malt beverages, non-carbonated water (including flavored water), hard cider, juice, tea, coffee, kombucha, plant-infused drinks, sports drinks and energy drinks.

Paper cartons and pouches are not subject to a deposit, nor are milk/dairy beverages, wine and liquor, plant-based milks or spirit-based hard seltzer.

Where can I redeem my bottles and cans?

Stores that sell drinks with a deposit are required to take back the empties and give you your money. They are only required to take back the brands that they sell. They are allowed to redeem more but aren’t required to.

Some retailers have self-service machines — known as reverse vending machines (RVMs) — that receive empties. Beginning Jan. 1, 2024, consumers will be limited to redeeming 240 empties in an RVM at a time.

Major grocery store chains have had RVMs for more than four decades, but as of Jan. 1, the types of stores required to have the machines expanded to include large chain drugstores like CVS and Walgreens as well as other chains like Dollar General, Target and Walmart.

Connecticut also has “redemption centers” — private businesses that redeem bottles and cans — though many of them operate on limited hours.

Are there any guidelines I should follow when redeeming bottles and cans?

Labels must remain on bottles so they can be identified as a redeemable product.

Bottles and cans should be empty. Retailers are allowed to refuse to redeem products that contain foreign materials, like cigarette butts.

Where does the money from unredeemed bottles go?

Historically, the money has gone to the state’s general fund, but a recent law changed that so distributors are now receiving funds as well. While they are receiving 100% in the latter half of 2023, the percentage of funds that goes to distributors will drop to 35% in the new year and increase incrementally between January 2024 and July 2025, after which it will be tied to the statewide bottle redemption rate.

‘It's a Killer': Conn. Homeowners Reliant on Heating Oil Paying More Per Gallon

Like prices at the pump, people who rely on oil for their homes may notice it’s costing a lot more.

In Connecticut, some people are spending twice as much per gallon for a tank of oil than they were a year ago.

Fuel oil dealers point to the war in Ukraine for driving up prices and creating a situation the country hasn’t seen in a long time.

"We are genuinely in that first war-time energy-economy that we've seen since World War II, where global prices are having such a profound impact on prices,” said Connecticut Energy Marketers Association President Chris Herb.

Chris Herb leads CEMA. He said the price impact, which is most visible at gas stations, is widespread. Panic at the pump also means panic at home now that crude oil prices are around $110 per barrel.

"That all flows down to the price we pay for home heating oil, for gasoline, kerosene and diesel fuel. Especially because Europe is so contingent upon diesel,” Herb said.

Around the state, it is putting a strain on peoples’ budgets. John Sullivan of Lakeville uses oil to heat his home and for hot water. But recently, he spent his entire month's social security check for a single tank of heating oil.

He said the same fill-up last year was $450.

“When you have to shell out $1,600 for a tank of oil or even more depending on how empty your tank is, it's just a killer if you're on a fixed income,” Sullivan said.

The problem is prompting another man to take a closer look at his bill.

"Usually, you're not down to buying more oil at this time, but obviously with the price of oil and everything, I've been looking into what I’m going to be paying now and in the future,” said Garry Fappiano of Wallingford.

Fappiano said he used to pay a little more than $3 per gallon for oil. Now, he is paying close to double. Sullivan just paid $6.29 per gallon for his tank of oil.

"You're looking at close to $850 to $1,000 to get a refill so buying ahead and seeing the different rates that are out there is the best thing to do,” Fappiano said.

Despite previous events that have spiked prices, CEMA’s president said he has never seen price levels this high.

"Whether it was Hurricane Katrina, Superstorm Sandy, lots of different things where we've seen prices fly, but we've never really seen this sort of sustained increase,” Herb said.

Herb said until the war in Ukraine is resolved, there may not be much relief in the short term. However, help is available, including the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program.

"So, for a family of four, you could be earning up to $75,000,” said Peter Handler with CT Department of Social Services.

The program works to support people with their electric, gas or heating bills regardless of your heating source.

Handler said there is still time to apply for assistance, as the application's deadline has been extended to June 30.

What: Bear Mountain Trail (Mount Riga State Park)

Where: 126 Long Pond Road, Lakeville, CT 06039

Points of interest: Highest Summit in Connecticut; stone ruins at summit

Intensity: Moderate-to-difficult

Length: 6 miles

Type: Loop

Bear Mountain Trail in Lakeville, Connecticut is a fairly popular hiking destination and as a result has a generous sized parking lot that could easily accommodate a dozen or more cars. However, on the day I went, I didn’t get to enjoy that luxury, seeing as a Boy Scout troop had already filled up the lot, but on your average day I don’t think it would be a problem. This is also one of the few hikes I know of with a privy at the beginning, which definitely comes in handy after an hour-and-a-half car ride.

Once you’ve gathered your gear, head over to a rather large signboard at the back of the parking lot, take a minute to orient yourself and then start hiking, following the blue trail markers. The trail climbs at a moderate pace, gaining a thousand feet over the next mile or so.

When you get to the top of the climb take the second right for the Paradise Lane Trail. If you take the first right you’ll probably end up wandering through someone’s campsite.

For the next mile the trail levels out before briefly descending and making a 180-degree turn. Then the trail proceeds to gain 500 feet of elevation over a little more than a quarter mile. Be prepared to do a bit of rock scrambling in this section. However, at the end of this steep section, it's just a few more steps to the summit.

Upon reaching the summit I was greeted with a sight that left me a little confused. In the middle of this prime viewpoint was a pile of rocks along with an illegible plaque. Curious, I explored a little bit more, but couldn’t find any more clues as to what it might be. However, seeing as the weather was turning rather quickly, I decided it was time to continue on my way.

Follow the blue trail markers as they head down the mountain. In a half mile you’ll come to an intersection with the Appalachian Trail, continue straight on the AT for a quarter mile until you come to an intersection with the undermountain trail; turn left to continue on the undermountain trail. In another half mile you’ll come to the first intersection of the day. Retrace your steps from there — from the last intersection it was about a half hour before I reached my car.

When I got home I did a little research on the stone ruins at the summit — the plaque is supposed to read: “This monument marks the highest ground in Connecticut, 2,354 feet above the sea. Built A.D. 1885 Owen Travis, Mason.” Originally there was a tower built by Owen Travis for a gentleman named Robbins Battell whose goal was to prove Encyclopedia Britannica wrong, which makes for an interesting story if you want to read up on it.

(Motor Authority) — A lot of companies have cropped up recent years offering EV conversions of much-loved classics, and one of the most popular classics to convert is proving to be early generations of the Porsche 911.

One of those companies is Sacrilege Motors, which plans to show off its first conversion on August 20 at the 2023 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, the highlight of Monterey Car Week.

Based in Lakeville, Connecticut, not far from the Lime Rock Park racetrack, Sacrilege Motors is run by Bobby Singh, who has more than 30 years of experience restoring and maintaining Porsches for both the road and track. Together with fellow Porsche enthusiast Phil Wagenheim, Singh aims to deliver 911 EV conversions that maintain the driving dynamics of the original icon while reducing its need for maintenance and dependence on oil.

“We want to deliver an analog, air-cooled-era 911 with the reliability and instant power of an EV, while preserving an exhilarating driving experience that’s familiar to air-cooled 911 enthusiasts,” Singh said in a statement. “Retaining the 911’s best handling characteristics, with added performance and upgraded components, all while reducing its environmental impact, was our ultimate goal.”

Sacrilege Motors specializes in 911s ranging from 1974 up to 1994, and is able to restore or modify virtually all aspects of the car. For its first conversion, nicknamed the Blackbird, the company used a 1992 Porsche 911 America Roadster, a limited-edition model with standard Carrera running gear but the wide body of the Turbo.

In place of the car’s original 247-hp flat-6 and Tiptronic transmission is an electric motor from a Tesla Model S, rated at 500 hp and mated to a single-speed transmission. The battery is a 62-kwh unit that on a full charge will deliver 200 miles of range, according to Sacrilege Motors. The company also claims a 0-60 mph time of less than four seconds.

Other modifications include adjustable Penske racing shocks, Brembo brakes, and 18-inch Fiske forged wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires measuring 235/40 up front and 295/35 at the rear.

Sacrilege Motors has managed to keep weight below 3,200 pounds, it claims, but perhaps more impressive is the weight distribution, which the company said matches that of the donor 911. This is helped by having most of the electronic hardware in the rear of the vehicle, where the engine normally sits.

“We’ve kept the same weight distribution, which is crucial to the car feeling like a Porsche 911 should,” Singh said.

Pricing information hasn’t been announced.

The Hotchkiss School is located in one of the more beautiful geographic locations in the U.S. Northeast, and strives to develop in students a lifelong love of learning, responsible citizenship, and personal integrity. As described on the Hotchkiss school’s website, “The Hotchkiss School is an independent boarding school located in Lakeville, Connecticut. Founded in 1891, the school provides an education of unsurpassed quality to 600 students in grades 9 through 12, and to a small number of postgraduates. Students at Hotchkiss come from across the United States and 34 foreign countries. Graduates attend many of the most selective universities and colleges,” (Hotchkiss website).

In 2012 Hotchkiss built a state-of-the-art biomass central heating facility to replace an aging steam plant. Located between a golf course and marshes, the new LEED Gold certified Hotchkiss School’s Biomass Treatment Center provides heating for the entire preparatory school which includes 85 buildings encompassing 1.2 million square feet and about 600 residents. Sited at the bottom of a sloping landscape, the treatment center burns woodchips and reduces greenhouse gas emissions by a third to a half compared to the oil-fired boiler it replaced. Two Messersmith biomass boiler units, which operate at 80 to 82 percent efficiency, can generate 14 million BTUs per hour burning waste wood acquired from sustainably harvested, local forests that are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.

The woodchips are replacing approximately 150,000 gallons of fuel oil per year and cut emissions overall, most dramatically sulfur dioxide by more than 90 percent. Waste ash from combustion is collected for use as fertilizer, and an electrostatic precipitator removes 95 percent of particulate matter from emissions (O&G).

Installed in July, 2012, the green roof on the central heating facility/biomass plant is an exciting addition to an already beautiful campus, and its distinctive wavy living roof captures 50% of the site’s rainwater while simultaneously blending into the landscape (gb&d, 2013).

The building was an immediate icon in sustainable commercial construction. Centerbrook Architects, the architect of record for the entire building, succinctly explains the building and its importance as a green initiative for the Hotchkiss campus:

“The facility is part of Hotchkiss’ commitment to becoming a carbon-neutral campus by 2020. In order to merge with the surrounding landscape, the new building will have a low profile and an undulating, sloped green roof. The facility will be one of only three LEED certified power plants in the country,” (Hotchkiss website). Read more about the school’s Green Energy Initiatives.

This “US school has cut a six-figure sum from its winter energy bill by replacing its oil-burning boiler with woodchip biomass ones. The switch has reduced the school’s carbon footprint by between 35 and 45 percent. The boilers are housed in a brand new green-roofed building which has become only the third LEED-certified power facility in the US… As one should expect from a green roof, this one serves more than aesthetic purposes. Bioswales, specially designed sloping channels, combine with rain gardens to slow and filter rainwater before it enters the ground,” (gizmag, 2013).

Due to the use of precultivated sedum mats, laid directly onto the green roof substrate, the roof was covered by vegetation quickly. The sedum carpet green roof system was provided by ZinCo USA on top of a Sika Sarnafil waterproofing membrane. The roofing contractor, Greenwood Industries of Millbury, MA, performed the installation of the waterproofing membrane and sub-contracted the installation of the ZinCo USA green roof system to Apex Green Roofs of Somerville, MA.

The ZinCo USA Sedum Carpet green roof system is a built-in place system that contains 5 critical components for proper functionality on the Hotchkiss Biomass Facility’s serpentine roof top:

A protection mat is placed on top of the waterproofing membrane to protect the roof during installation and to retain water for the roof in times of extended drought. The Floradrain FD25-E drainage element – the proverbial “heart” of the green roof system – lies on top of the protection mat, hugging the waves of the roof (2/12 slope), ensuring proper drainage while retaining a specific amount of water for the roof’s vegetation. The Filter Sheet SF separates the 2.5″ of Zincoblend extensive growing media from the three-dimensional water retention cups of the FD25-E drainage element and a pre-cultivated vegetation mat is placed on top of the growing media achieving near 100% vegetated coverage in a short amount of time.

The result is the fantastic green roof seen in the images that will protect and beautify the Hotchkiss Biomass Treatment Facility Building for decades to come. Awards include the 2014 Associated General Contractors (AGC) Build Connecticut Award for Mid-Size New Constructions and the 2013 Connecticut Green Building Council Alexion Award of Excellence.
