On Monday, a husband-wife duo from Wolcott claimed a winning Connecticut Lottery ticket that awarded them $390,000, according to a news release.
The duo — identified as Dawn and George M. by the Connecticut Lottery — matched five numbers of a "Lucky for Life" lottery drawing on Saturday. They've been married for over 50 years and have played the draw game since its release in March 2009 using "their lucky numbers—birthdays of their children, each other and other loved ones," the news release reads.
"I couldn’t believe it," George M. told the Connecticut Lottery, according to the news release. "It finally happened!"
They plan to spend the winnings on a vacation and upcoming wedding plans for their children, according to the news release.
The couple had the choice to claim the winnings as an annuity of $25,000 a year for life or a lump sum cash option of $390,000, according to the Lucky For Life prizes and odds page. The odds of winning were one in over 1.8 million.
The winning ticket was purchased at Gas Man & Store 40 located on Meriden Road in Waterbury, the news release reads. Following the sale of the winning ticket, Gas Man & Store 40 will receive a $2,500 retailer bonus, according to the news release.
Lucky For Life drawings occur every night around 10:30 p.m. and cost $2 per wager, according to the Lucky For Life "how to play" page.
In May, a Meriden resident claimed a winning "Lucky for Life" ticket and chose the lump sum cash option of $390,000. In April, a Stamford resident made the same choice and claimed $390,000 in "Lucky for Life" winnings.
Another Connecticut Lottery player is yet to claim tens of thousands in winnings from a drawing over the weekend.
On Sunday, a Connecticut Lottery player won $25,000 following a Keno drawing, according to the Connecticut Lottery's unclaimed prizes list. The winning numbers are 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - 15 - 19 - 29 - 36 - 40 - 42 - 49 - 50 - 68 - 74 - 76, according to the Connecticut Lottery's unclaimed prizes list.
The ticket was purchased at Hir Mobil on the Run located on Poquonock Avenue in Windsor, and the winnings must be claimed by Dec. 19, according to the unclaimed prizes list.

WOLCOTT, Conn. — A Wolcott couple is celebrating after winning $25,000 a year for life in Saturday's Lucky for Life drawing, according to CT Lottery.
The numbers to match in Saturday's drawing are 8, 10, 22, 26, and 28. The Lucky Ball was 4.
The Wolcott couple matched all five numbers, winning $25,000 a year for life. They opted for the lump-sum payout of $390,000.
Dawn and George said it was a whole family effort, as the winning numbers were their lucky numbers; the birthdays of themselves, their children and other loved ones.
The Wolcott couple said they've played Lucky for Life since its debut in 2009 and have stuck to their lucky numbers.
“I couldn’t believe it,” George said. “It finally happened!”
The couple said they got their ticket at Gas Man & Store 40 on Meriden Road in Waterbury. The store will receive a $2,500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
The winnings will be used to help with upcoming wedding plans for their children and for a vacation, Dawn and George said.
A total of 5,593 winning Lucky for Life tickets were sold in Connecticut for Saturday's drawing.
Had the couple matched the Lucky Ball as well, they would have won the top prize of $365,000 a year for life.
Lucky for Life is drawn nightly. There are 22 participating states along with the District of Columbia.
