The Manheim Township High School Key Club ended its administrative year at the 73rd annual Pennsylvania Key Club District Convention held March 29-31 in Pittsburgh.
Manheim Township Key Club members served an annual total of 4,929 hours through a variety of service opportunities. At the convention, the high school received the following recognition:
— Named one of seven distinguished clubs in the state for its outstanding overall service, fundraising and leadership
— Bill Brandamore Kiwanis Family Award for the club’s work with the Lititz Area Kiwanis Club
— UNICEF Banner Patch for raising $1,485 for The Eliminate Project (helping to eradicate neonatal/maternal tetanus in developing countries).
— Fourth-most service hours, 934, and second-most money raised, $4,084, for the Youth Serving Youth Project.
All club officers were recognized as distinguished in their positions: president, Shruti Nair; vice president, Emma Dieterle; secretary, Lauren Martin; treasurer, Adam Thompson; and editor, Nicole Honrade.
Reghan Radmore received the Bob Bagans Unsung Hero Award as the outstanding nonofficer club member in the Key Club division. She was also recognized with the fourth-most service hours by an individual member in Pennsylvania, with 253.5.
Elyse Gallagher received the Sandy Nininger Award as the most outstanding club member in the state.
Lauren Kaufman concluded her second and final year as a lieutenant governor on the board of the Pennsylvania Key Club District as representative for clubs in Lancaster and Lebanon counties. Manheim Township will continue to be represented at the state level by Elyse, who will serve as a lieutenant governor for 2019-20.
National Honor Society
Manheim Township High School seniors Brian Hoffman, Eric Lai, Luke Mundorf, Shruti Nair, Nidhi Patel, Vasudha Patel, Michael Steger, Adam Thompson, Le Ai Nhi Truong and Tyler Vicidomini have been inducted into the National Honor Society.
Juniors Sheldon Abney, Eric Anderson, Collin Arms, Hayley Astheimer, Natalie Beck, Joey Bender, Dayanna Blanco, Evan Border, William Border, Katelyn Bushong, Luis Castellanos Martin, Allison Colarelli, Allison Cubell, Vanessa Daniels, Riely Delerna Huaman, Tyler Fox, Sophia Georgelis, John Gingrich, Elijah Mikael Gocotano, Priya Hans, Jonathan Horst, Juliana Hunt, Zoe Ike, Madalyn Jenkins, Katie Jiang, Trenton Jones, Sanjay Joshua, Ethan Kim, Samuel Kingsbury, Emily Kmiec, Tyler Kurtz and Anabelle Lapp have also been inducted into NHS.
