Multiple fire engines and ambulances rushed to Calvin Harris’ LA mansion after it partially caught on fire, according to reports.

Emergency services were called to the 40-year-old superstar DJ’s Beverly Hills house at around 8.25pm on Wednesday after reports of a smell of smoke and a possible blaze on the third floor.

The Los Angeles Fire Department sent up to 10 different fire units, and at least 20 different responders, while an eyewitness, who saw black fumes billowing from the One Kiss producer’s home, said a helicopter also responded to the call.

Firefighters identified the source of the fire reportedly near the theatre room and spent nearly an hour extinguishing the flames which were near an HVAC system.

It is believed the blaze was caused by an electrical mishap and has caused around $100,000 (£79,000) in damage, but fortunately, no-one was harmed, according to TMZ.

The publication said Calvin was not at the property at the time of the fire and has not been living there for some time. Instead, he has been leasing the mansion for several years.

Instead, Calvin primarily resides in Ibiza, where he reportedly purchased a 138-acre farm.

He even previously posted a sheep selfie and showed off a fondness for fleece in what appears to have been a nod to his new farmer lifestyle.

The producer is apparently happy ‘getting his hands dirty’ on his farm Terra Masia, according to The Sun.

A source said: ‘Calvin employs an expert team including farmers and chefs. But that hasn’t stopped him getting involved and he regularly gets his hands dirty, helping to plant seeds and everything else involved in running a farm.

‘He is really passionate about what he and the team are doing.’

Over the past few months, the Feels hitmaker has celebrated a slew of glorious achievements in his personal life.

This year, on January 17, the Feels hitmaker celebrated a milestone birthday, his 40th, with a rather thirst trap picture on Instagram.

He also recently married BBC presenter Vick Hope at a Glastonbury-themed wedding ceremony in Hulne Priory in Alnwick, Northumberland.

According to the MailOnline, the celebrity guest list included Big Brother presenter AJ Odudu, BBC radio DJs Vernon Kay and Scott Mills and Jordan North – Vick’s Radio 1 co-host.

The publication also noted that Nile Rodgers and Chic had been flown in from America to perform at the highly anticipated nuptials

The newlyweds then boarded a private jet and settled in for a flight to Brindisi, Italy to enjoy a romantic getaway as part of their honeymoon.

British singer, songwriter, and dancer Tahliah Debrett Barnett, known professionally as FKA Twigs, is responding to the banning of her Calvin Klein advertisement by the UK’s Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) this past week. The ad was banned on the grounds that it made her a “stereotypical sexual object,” to which she has since responded by saying that the ban is a result of “double standards.”

The black and white poster ad features her dressed in a shirt held across her semi-nude body, conveying a sexual theme that is usually what characterizes Calvin Klein ads.

Following two complaints from the public, the ASA issued the ban and said the ad overly sexualized her and the “image’s composition placed viewers’ focus on the model’s body rather than on the clothing being advertised.”

In a statement posted on Instagram, FKA twigs retaliated to the UK ASA’s comments claiming “I do not see the ‘stereotypical sex object’ that they have labeled me. I see a beautiful strong woman of colour whose incredible body has overcome more pain than you can imagine.”

Her mention of overcoming pain likely includes her previous illness and 2017 surgery in which six fibroid tumors were removed from her uterus.

“In light of reviewing other campaigns past and current of this nature, I can’t help but feel there are some double standards here,” she went on to say in the post.

She proceeded to reassert her pride in her physical image, and paid tribute to other black women like Josephine Baker, Eartha Kitt, and Grace Jones “who broke down barriers of what it looks like to be empowered and harness a unique embodied sexuality,” and finished her response by asserting, “I will not have my narrative changed.”

FKA Twigs’ reference to other similarly provocative campaigns that have not been as widely censured likely alludes to the current men’s Calvin Klein underwear campaign that features American actor Jeremy Allen White, which contains an array of images of him in no more than a pair of boxer briefs. The campaign has been publicly displayed all over the NYC streets, and has garnered much positive attention in the media since its release. A New Yorker essay described it as “a time stamp of our own historical moment, a period of foiled pleasures and desires left on simmer.”

Calvin Klein has publicly defended the pose of FKA Twigs in the advertisement, defining it as “natural and neutral,” and claiming the campaign “contained a progressive and enlightened message.”

The two complaints that were received by the ASA also called out a pair of Calvin Klein ads that feature Kendall Jenner in a provocative fashion, but they only banned FKA Twigs’ campaign, asserting that Jenner’s was not overtly sexual and less like a lingerie advertisement.

Calvin Klein, 80, was seen on a rare outing with his longtime boyfriend Kevin Baker, 35, in Los Angeles, CA this week. The talented fashion designer and his partner were photographed while walking to Turners Cafe, where they had a lunch date and played chess, before they reportedly hit up Gold’s Gym to work out. They were both wearing casual outfits and holding bottled drinks when they walked by cameras.

Calvin’s outfit included a long-sleeved light gray top, tan pants, and white sneakers. He also added sunglasses and had a short haircut. Kevin wore a long-sleeved black top, black pants, and black and white Converse style sneakers. At one point, the young hunk seemed to change his shirt in front of their car.

Calvin and Kevin’s outing comes after they’ve been dating for seven years. They made their red carpet debut as a couple back in 2016, when they attended the American Ballet Theatre’s Fall Gala. They’ve also been seen together at various fashion shows, award shows, and star-studded parties. Although they have never publicly confirmed their romance, reports of their connection have been shared since they were first romantically linked.

Just over a year ago, they were also seen going on a lunch outing together. They enjoyed a meal at Mauro’s Cafe in West Hollywood and appeared relaxed and happy as they shared a lot of smiles throughout the day. They were also seen on a lunch date in Dec. 2021, when they wore matching black outfits and sunglasses.

Before Calvin found romance with Kevin, he was married to Jayne Centre from 1965 until 1974 and Kelly Rector from 1986 until 2006. He also reportedly dated ex-porn star Nicholas Gruber. Like Calvin, who is one of the most famous fashion names in the industry, Kevin has reportedly led his own successful career as a model and actor and comes from Spokane, WA, according to NewnOwnNext.com. It’s unclear how he and Calvin met but they were first seen hanging out together at the Mint Luxury Conference in Mumbai, India in March 2016.

CALVIN Harris is renting out his £20 million Beverly Hills mansion for £80,000 per month after it failed to find a buyer.

The Dumfries-born DJ put his 16,000sq ft home in the Los Angeles neighbourhood on the market last year.

He had hoped to offload the ten-bedroom, 12-bathroom house for £18 million - £6 million more than he paid for it in 2014.

The 39-year-old's sprawling property has now been taken off the market and is being advertised for rent at £80,000 per month.

The exclusive home features a five-car garage attached to a movie theatre, a detached gym and a two-storey guest house that Harris used as two separate recording studios.

It includes a large pool and spa, a fire pit, a patio with plenty of seating and a custom-made pergola with bar seating and a barbeque.

Elsewhere on the 2.7-acre property, there are multiple gardens, a basketball court, and a solar dome.

Harris, who also owns a farm in Ibiza, said earlier this year he left Los Angeles because he missed the UK.

The former supermarket shelf-stacker - real name Adam Wiles - is one of the highest-earning DJs in the world and in 2020 sold the rights to his back catalogue to an investment firm for a reported £76 million.

He has had 11 UK no 1 hits, including Promises and One Kiss, and last year he released a new album called Funk Wav Bounces Vol 2.

A Calvin University search committee has selected La’Leatha Spillers as the institution’s first vice president for marketing and communications. Spillers serves as chief advancement officer for the YWCA West Central Michigan, where she oversees the organization’s fundraising, development, communications, and marketing efforts. Spillers will begin her tenure at Calvin University on April 10, 2023.

“When I saw Calvin make the shift from college to university a few years back [as part of Vision 2030], that’s when my senses perked up a bit and I took further notice. What resonated with me from the university’s vision is the desire to equip people to have an expanded global influence,” said Spillers. “Calvin is a well-respected Christian liberal arts institution, and it’s an honor and humbling opportunity to be part of Calvin for such a time as this.”

Spillers is well equipped to do this work, bringing with her 20 years of experience in marketing, communications, fundraising, and public relations. She’s held leadership positions at Bethany Christian Services, Grand Rapids Christian Schools, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Detroit. In each case, she has led cross-functional teams in the successful development and implementation of strategic initiatives.

“The depth and breadth of experience that La’Leatha brings to Calvin will elevate the great work happening here,” said Wiebe Boer, president of Calvin University. “What she has shown in her previous experience is the ability to help organizations, both global and local nonprofits, advance their reputation and tell their story better. I have no doubt she will help us do the same here.”

In her role as vice president of marketing of Bethany Christian Services from 2014-2019 she led an integrated marketing communications team to develop and deliver innovative strategic communications products, services, and programs to support an international brand located in 36 states and in 17 countries. She said the key to her team’s success was unifying all its branches through building relationships and partnerships, something she sees as crucial to her work at Calvin as well.

I am committed to listening and learning and finding those common themes that thread us all together,” said Spillers. “Each department or entity may deliver it differently, but we are all part of that one body of Calvin, and we should be able to see the unifying themes. Our role then is to tell our story and equip our constituencies to do the same.

"The opportunity to use my God-given gifts and talents as part of a leadership team who wants to live into what Christ wants us to be—a light and influence across industry and culture—really resonates with me," said Spillers. "Calvin is doing great things to prepare students, and this is an amazing mission to be a part of. If we keep God first and at the core of all we do, everything else will fall into place."

President Boer co-chaired the search committee with Andy George, associate vice president for human resources. The eight-member committee consisted of members of the university’s faculty, administration, and staff, while also including interviews with student focus groups. The international search, which commenced in October 2022, resulted in a diverse and qualified pool of applicants representing 12 U.S. states and three countries.
