Hi Kelly, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today? I grew up in Michigan and always knew I wanted to move to LA. After college, I moved to Chicago for four years to gain some experience, and then finally made the move to LA in 2018. So many people told me I would hate it, but eight years later, I’ve built a career, a family, and a life here, and I can confidently say I made the right choice. Professionally, I work on the corporate side of a major entertainment studio in creative marketing and production, which has given me the opportunity to work in an industry I’ve always loved. But outside of my career, I’ve found a lot of fulfillment in creating a life that allows me to explore all of the things I’m interested in. I’ve always been someone with a lot of different interests, and content creation has become a really fun outlet for me. I make relatable and funny content, but I also create things that are more personal — sharing my perspective, telling stories, documenting experiences, and connecting with other people. I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with other creators, influencers, actors, and brands, which has opened up a whole other creative world for me. Fitness has also been a huge part of my life for years. The gym has always been a place where I can reconnect with myself and step away from everything else for a little while. It’s something that has shaped me personally and has also become an extension of my creative work. I think what fulfills me most is that I don’t feel like I have to be just one thing. My career is one part of my life, but so are being a mom, creating, fitness, connecting with people, and constantly finding new things that make me excited. I’ve really enjoyed giving myself the freedom to explore all of those sides of who I am.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far? Definitely not — but I think I’ve gotten better at not expecting it to be. There have been plenty of challenges and unexpected turns along the way, and I used to feel like I needed to have everything planned out. Now I try to find a balance: I plan enough to give myself goals and direction, but I also try to leave things fluid enough to adapt to how I’m feeling and what’s happening in my life. Some of the things I’m doing today weren’t necessarily part of some five-year plan. They happened because I followed an interest, met someone, tried something new, or realized I wanted something different. I’ve learned that I can still be ambitious and intentional without having every single step mapped out. For me, it’s really become about having a direction without being so attached to the exact route. I think that mindset has made me much more open to opportunities and, honestly, a lot happier with where I am.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work? My work really sits at the intersection of entertainment, marketing, production, and storytelling. I work on the corporate side of a major entertainment studio, where I specialize in production project management — taking a project from an idea or request through all of the moving pieces needed to get it across the finish line. A big part of what I do is bringing structure to creative work, managing timelines and teams, working with vendors and creatives, and making sure all of those pieces come together. I actually started my career as an Executive Assistant and gradually moved into production and project management, so I’ve developed a really strong understanding of both the business and creative sides of the industry. I think that background has become one of my biggest strengths because I’m very organized and process-oriented, but I also genuinely love the creative side of what I’m working on. Outside of my day job, I’ve built another creative outlet through content creation. I make relatable and funny content, but I also love telling stories, sharing my perspective, documenting experiences, and collaborating with other creators, influencers, actors, and brands. I don’t necessarily think of myself as someone who fits into one specific type of content — I’m interested in creating things that feel authentic to me and connecting with people through them. What I’m most proud of is probably not one specific project or accomplishment. It’s that I’ve continued to evolve. I started my career in a completely different role, worked my way into production and eventually management, and at the same time built this creative side of myself that I never really planned for. I’m proud that I’ve created a career that challenges me while also creating space in my life for the things that bring me joy. I think what sets me apart is that I bring the same combination of organization, curiosity, creativity, and people skills to everything I do. Whether I’m managing a complicated production at work or figuring out how to turn an everyday experience into something people can laugh about online, I really enjoy bringing ideas to life. I think I’ve become someone who can see both the big picture and all the little details that actually make something happen.
If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to? I think one of the biggest qualities that has contributed to my success is my personality and my ability to connect with people. I can usually find a way to jive with just about anyone, and I’m pretty good at reading the energy of a room and adapting without feeling like I have to change who I am. I’ve learned that I don’t need to force myself into being a certain type of person to be successful. I try to show up as myself, be approachable, and let my energy flow naturally. At the same time, I’ve learned when to be serious and when to take a step back and remind myself not to take everything so seriously. I think that balance has helped me a lot, especially in an industry where you’re constantly working with different personalities, navigating challenges, and collaborating with a lot of people. I care about doing good work and being taken seriously, but I also think people work better together when you can bring some lightness and humor into the room. Ultimately, I think being genuine, adaptable, and comfortable being myself has opened a lot of doors for me — and helped me build relationships that have been just as important to my career as the work itself.

“I, as a 37-year-old woman, feel pressure to look a certain way here,” Kelly exclusively told Us while promoting her partnership with Wayfair. “It’s normal for everyone to do things and whatnot. I feel that pressure. I can only imagine being my daughters growing up here. I would hope that they see it as, ‘Oh, yeah, that’s just what people do here, but we’re good.’ But I think it will be hard. There’s just a lot here.”
Kelly and Matthew, 38, share four daughters: twins Sawyer and Chandler, 9, Hunter, 8 and Tyler, 6.
“For me — and I know for my husband, too — we want somewhat of a simpler upbringing for our girls,” Kelly, who met Matthew during their time at the University of Georgia, explained. “We already kind of don’t know what we’re doing because neither of us grew up this way. To be surrounded by a community with the same values and things like that is important to us. It will also help [Matthew and myself] stay grounded. That’s part of it, too. We have to stay grounded. How do you do that? You surround yourself with people who have known you forever and can call you out on your bulls***.”
Kelly added, “You know, you use your manners. You open the door for people. To me, things that matter. You have respect for people. It’s everywhere, right? It’s not just California. But I do think it’s ramped up here.”
When Matthew decides to retire — he is currently in the midst of his 18th NFL season and signed a one-year, $55 million contract extension with the Rams in May — the Staffords haven’t decided whether they’ll leave California behind.
“That is a question I ask myself every day,” Kelly told Us. “Family’s first for us. I miss my family like crazy. I could get choked up talking about how much I miss them. I miss my nephews and nieces growing up. Having people at sporting events, that is how I grew up. We have a huge extended family, as well. That feels like home to me.”
She continued, “But I also have to realize that my daughters are older and have made friends and have routines and sports teams. My husband loves it out here. So, what’s the compromise? I don’t know yet.”

In a bizarro edition of “unstoppable force meets immovable object,” the Dodgers and their six-game losing streak—their worst of the season—will face a pitcher that perhaps more than any other one in the sport has felt the strength of the Dodgers across the last several years. Even in extremely lopsided battles, baseball has a way of rewarding the weaker sides occasionally, but for Kelly against the Dodgers, there has been none of that even when he’s been at his best.
A regular of the Diamondbacks rotation since he first came up to the bigs back in 2019, Kelly has accumulated a healthy sample size against the NL West, including 17 starts and 89 innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Throughout it, he owns a 0-11 record, which includes a 2022 season in which he was the losing pitcher of record in all five starts against the Dodgers. Kelly had eight losses total in a 200-inning campaign that season. The last time Kelly faced the Dodgers was an 8-6 loss at the end of the 2024 campaign, one that doesn’t even count towards his 11 decisions, even though he allowed six of those runs (4 earned).
The only Dodger for the entirety of Kelly’s big-league career, Max Muncy has faced him the most, and while he has only hit one home run, the veteran third baseman has reached safely in 22 of 43 plate appearances. Mookie Betts, who is coming off a four-hit game, might get on a run, having taken Kelly deep four times in 35 at-bats. And if the Dodgers do anything close to what has been their common production against Kelly, Roki Sasaki may not even need his best start to take the win. Now more than ever, the Diamondbacks starter seems less than ideally prepared for this matchup.

Kelly currently plays Byron Westfield, the CIA's deputy director, in "Lioness." The show is in its third season.
During a recent interview with ScreenRant in August, Kelly called Sheridan "one of the greatest storytellers" and said he would take any opportunity to work with him.

So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, growing up on the Westside before attending public schools in the South Bay. For eight years, I competed in both figure skating and rhythmic gymnastics—two sports that shaped my confidence, independence, and love of performing. Looking back, I never really built an identity outside of entertaining people, and honestly, I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. Making people laugh has always come naturally to me.
Both of my parents worked in aerospace, so after high school I enlisted in the Air Force, hoping for the same stability that so many people in my hometown of El Segundo pursued through aviation and engineering. While attending technical school, I became known as the class clown. Friends encouraged me to try comedy, and even the silly videos I posted on my private Instagram became something people looked forward to every day.
When the pandemic hit, I found myself back home with no clear plan. I started uploading vlogs about dating, rant videos about my minimum-wage job, and comedic reenactments of relatable situations. Then, on January 13, 2020, I filmed a story time in my car about a terrible date. By the next morning, it had taken off. The video reached 128,000 views within weeks and nearly one million by the end of the summer, introducing thousands of people to my sense of humor and sending them down a binge-watch rabbit hole.
What started as earning pennies from YouTube quickly turned into more than $15,000 a month, eventually growing to over $40,000 a month through sponsorships. As my channel evolved, I began pulling back the curtain on content creation itself, sharing my strategy with the same sarcastic humor that built my audience. Somewhere along the way, viewers started calling me “Professor Stamps,” and that’s how Stampede University was born! This nomadic journey has taken my from my home in Santa Monica, to my own apartment in New York City, down to Miami, across to Dallas and now currently in San Francisco.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?Honestly, it’s been a mostly smooth road. The biggest challenge wasn’t creating content—it was navigating what’s called parasocial relationships. I’ve always been a performer, so I never had a fear of being perceived or putting myself out there. But during my viral stage, some people began picking apart everything I said and did. Because my content is rooted in comedy and sarcasm, it’s inevitable that some people will be offended or misunderstand the joke. For a while, that criticism made me hesitant to upload, but I eventually learned that you can’t create for millions of people and expect everyone to interpret your work the same way.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?I have a YouTube channel self titled “Kelly Stamps” that focused on life in the 20s. I was just trying to figure everything out, and I think that’s what thousands of people connected with. Some described it as a coming-of-age story with a slice of comedy and dry humor. What sets me apart is my honesty, creativity with kits and not coming from a privileged background like most influencers these days. I have high engagement because it’s like seeing an old friend they say.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?Hmm, it’s hard to predict because the industry changes so quickly, but I think we’re already seeing a shift. Audiences seem to be getting tired of constant overconsumption and endless product recommendations, so I think creators who are more authentic and intentional will continue to stand out.
At the same time, I don’t think the desire to become an influencer is going away. People have always wanted to entertain, build an audience, or be recognized in some way. I think the influencer industry will still be around in five years—it will just reward creators who give people a reason to stick around beyond selling products.
