A Chicago-based consulting firm has moved into a bigger office in downtown L.A. after signing a lease that more than triples its previous footprint in the city.
West Monroe is leasing a full floor at 700 S. Flower St. after outgrowing its previous office at 1000 Wilshire Blvd. a few blocks away. The move to the 24,750-square-foot office accommodates around 100 employees and, according to the company, plays into its long-term growth plans.
The business-and-technology consulting firm also recently signed new office leases for larger spaces in San Francisco and Seattle. The firm says it is committing to in-person work by moving into “larger, purpose-built spaces while optimizing costs.”
West Monroe Senior Partner Jordan Sternlieb led the move in Los Angeles. The firm chose to position its office in downtown L.A. as the area “remains the most central and accessible hub” for the team, he told L.A. Business First via email.
"Many of us live nearby or commute from across Southern California using public transit," he added. "It also puts us in close proximity to the clients and industries we work with every day, from banking and utilities to private equity and health care. And beyond the workday, it’s a vibrant place to connect."
He noted DTLA’s restaurants, bars and entertainment as other draws behind keeping the office downtown. Downtown L.A.'s office market has been a challenge for the city since 2020, with vacancy rising from 26% in Q4 2023 to 31% in Q4 2024, per DTLA Alliance data.

These facility accepts the same items listed below but the new building has some new features. It features some new equipment and plenty of storage that will help in the efficiency of the recycling center.
Our new facility is about 3-4 times the size of the older facility. Gives us much more maneuverability for one, but again it allows us to take in more material. We had storage constraints at the last facility, now with the expansion we outgrew the old facility, now we have much more room to operate.

This facility also has room for a new unique feature, the drive through drop off. This allows citizens of the community to drive into the building and drop off their items without having to get out of their cars.
This helps not only the community, but also the workers as they can be much more efficient in grabbing recyclables from multiple cars.
With it being a drive through facility, we are expecting to be able to serve the public faster and more effeciently. Recycling has not ever gone down, it has only continued to increase in the last 6 years.

WEST MONROE, La. (KTVE/KARD) — According to city officials, the West Monroe Recycling Center will move to an expanded facility at 607 Grantham Avenue.
The 409 Lincoln St. facility will no longer be a drop-off location for recyclable materials.
According to officials, the expanded recycling center will be open for public drop-off on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Plastics 1 & 2, cardboard, aluminum, metal, foil, and glass can be dropped off at the facility. The additional collection schedule for the month of February is listed below.

MONROE, La. MONROE, La. (KNOE) - The Budweiser Clydesdales will be participating in several events in the twin cities this week leading up to the Krewe of Janus Mardi Gras Parade on Saturday, Feb. 15.
The Clydesdales are requested all around the country and come to our area once every eight or nine years.
“Each event is really cool, we definitely cherish that Mardi Gras season for us and you guys are the ones this year. So I mean, congratulations, West Monroe. We’re here and come on out. Live it up,” Budweiser Clydesdale Handler Alec Smith said.
When they do come, they bring 10 Clydesdales with them, eight participate in events and two are used as alternates.
They are currently staying at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center in West Monroe, and they require a lot of upkeep.
“Normally our boys, they eat roughly about 30 to 60 pounds of hay a day. Again, each horse has their own special diet. And the water, I mean, if you’re gonna own a horse, especially one of these guys, let me tell you, your water bills will be crazy. Average about 30 gallons of water per horse per day. All of our horses, they get a daily grooming. It doesn’t really matter if it’s a wet bath dry bath. It needs to be. Their skin is always exfoliated. Their legs are always going to be as white as possible,” Smith said.
The public is also invited to view the Clydesdales at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center. The first viewing is Tuesday, Feb. 11 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and the second is Thursday, Feb. 13 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
“You can come check them out in the stalls and again, hopefully the weather will participate with us on Saturday, and they’ll be ready for the Krewe of Janus Mardi Gras parade,” Director of Marketing at Marsala Beverage, Tyler Flemister said.
They will also be making deliveries in West Monroe’s Restaurant Row on Constitution Drive on Friday, Feb. 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Clydesdale’s participation in all events, including the parade are dependent on the weather.
“Our horses can possibly slip and fall on that wet asphalt. So if there is any chances of precipitation or flooding at all, we do not participate in those events, unfortunately,” Smith said.
