MONROE, La. (KNOE) - Week two of the high school football playoffs continued with some strong wins and a few painful losses.
Neville starts off strong against Covington and takes home the win, 44-13.
With a rematch of last year’s championship game, Ruston takes on Zachary, ultimately winning 42-21.
West Monroe on the road for the second week in a row taking on Mandeville. West Monroe came out on top, 20-9.
Fresh off their first post-season win since 2007 West Ouachita was hoping to make it two in a row, but fell to Central, 45-20.
Sterlington dominates Lakeside to move onto the quarterfinals, 49-18.
Oak Grove started off strong and clinched victory over Mansfield 62-14.
Defending champs Union Parish take on Red River and stay on top, winning 42-8.
Jena hosted Port Allen and sent them home with a loss, 56-20.
The Franklin Parish Patriots coming off a record 9 win regular season and continuing strong, beating Brusly 35-14.
Wossman faced Iowa for the second time this year, and fell for a second time 24-8.
Isidore Newman took on D’Arbonne Woods in the first playoff game and took home a win, 49-13.
Southern Lab has not been eliminated in the second round of playoffs since 2011, and that streak continued as they took down St. Frederick 24-7.
Ouachita Christian and Catholic of Pointe Coupee last faced off in the state championship in 2019. Each team came into the matchup with only one loss this year, but Ouachita Christian took home the win 28-6.
The Mangham Dragons came into their matchup confident against West St. John and won, 44-6.
General Trass hoped to pull off a win on the road against North Iberville, and succeeded pulling off a 38-6 win.
In the MAIS ranks, Briarfield took on Wilkinson County Christian Academy and came out on top, winning 32-18.
The playoffs continue next week, and the journey to the championships continues.
