We have a brother and his significant other who were living independently and when visiting them realized they had not been eating or keeping their home clean. Since we knew of Always Best Care and heard of their excellent reputation we contacted them. They immediately stepped in and assisted us in knowing what steps we needed to take. After taking both our brother and his significant other to the doctors and learning that they had the beginnings of Alzheimer’s disease, we met with Carmen who helped us set up a plan. She suggested that we start with a few days a week of in home care so that we would know that they were eating. She provided us with excellent aids that not only helped prepare meals, but also interacted with our family members to encourage socialization. These few days increased to five days a week which left us with Saturday and Sunday to monitor their eating. Capritti was named New Jersey’s sole recipient of the 2025-26 Milken Educator Award, one of education’s most prestigious honors, during a surprise ceremony in the school gym packed with cheering students, teachers, and local leaders. shows Capritti’s jaw drop in absolute shock as her name was called.
The honor was presented by Milken Educator Awards Senior Vice President Dr. Jane Foley and New Jersey Commissioner of Education Kevin Dehmer.
“Congratulations to Jeanette Capritti, whose exceptional dedication and passion for teaching shines in everything she does for the benefit of colleagues, students and the community,” Foley said in a statement. “Her instructional innovation, captivating classroom environment, and broader leadership and mentorship highlight why she will make a meaningful addition to the Milken Educator Network.”
Capritti — the first-ever Milken recipient in Lawrence Township Public Schools — joins a national network of more than 3,000 educators celebrated as the “Oscars of Teaching.” She is New Jersey’s 39th recipient since the state joined the program in 2002.
“The Milken Educator Award is one of the most prestigious recognitions in education,” Commissioner Dehmer said. “Jeanette Capritti’s selection as New Jersey’s latest recipient is a powerful affirmation of her innovative teaching on writing and literacy, and her unwavering commitment to student success.”
Capritti is known among students and colleagues for her creative approach to literacy, transforming lessons into immersive experiences like “sci-fi book tastings” complete with music, lighting, and themed discussion. Her teaching, according to district officials, has led to significant gains in reading and writing scores on state assessments.
Outside the classroom, Capritti tutors students during lunch, mentors future teachers from Rider University and The College of New Jersey, and leads professional development workshops for fellow educators.
The Milken Award includes an unrestricted $25,000 cash prize, which recipients have used for continuing education, scholarships, or classroom projects. Honorees will gather for a national forum in Washington, D.C., in June 2026 to share ideas for strengthening education across the country.

The restaurant posted an update on Facebook that read, "PARDON OUR DUST as we work toward enhancing your Drive-Thru experience. Stay posted for more updates."
Construction equipment and materials were spotted on the grounds of the restaurant.
Loyal fans are excited. One commented on the post with celebratory emojis, "Are we getting a mobile order lane?"
I'm sure that's what customers are hoping for. It would help move the line along faster.
If you're not familiar, a mobile order lane is only for customers who have ordered ahead on the Chick-fil-A app.
The new Chick-fil-A in Hamilton Marketplace, on Route 130, has a mobile-order-only lane, as well as a regular drive-thru lane.
There are signs above the lanes directing you to one lane if you need to place an order and pay, or the other lane if you've already ordered and paid on the Chick-fil-A app.
The mobile-order lane tends to go faster because all the business is already taken care of before you get to the restaurant.
If you've placed a mobile order, you'll check in once you get to the restaurant by scanning a QR code hanging in the Mobile-Order lane. It's quick and easy. Then, you'll merge with the regular lane and pick up your order.
No word on how long the project will take, but I'm sure it will be worth the wait.
Now, if they could just work on a better traffic flow to get out of that center.

Captain Paul's Firehouse Dogs, a beloved community hot dog stand, is up for sale once again.
Let me start at the beginning for those not familiar with what's been going on lately with the local, community-minded business.
Back in the spring, retired Trenton Fire Department Captain Paul Tweedly and his wife Janice, owners of Captain Paul's Firehouse Dogs for over 15 years, were forced to sell because of Paul's health issues. Tweedly had been told by his doctor that he had to slow down.

The Tweedly family, and the community, crossed its fingers that a new buyer would come along to keep the spirit of the business alive. Captain Paul's Firehouse Dogs is a huge supporter of the community and the people in it, along with first responders and military.
Along came Patrick Jones and his mother, Deborah Jones, to save the day. They vowed to continue what Captain Paul and Janice had started.
To the community's delight, Captain Paul's Firehouse Dogs reopened in April. Community events were held once again, like Dine to Donates, pet adoptions, and the popular car shows.
As with any flourishing business comes its challenges, and those challenges have led to the Jones' decision to sell the restaurant.
They just posted the following heartfelt letter on Facebook.
The post read in part, "After some long thought and reflection, we have realized that the best decision for us is to sell the restaurant. The significant amount of time, effort, and sacrifice of running and operating a restaurant while navigating fulltime careers and managing other respective facets of our lives is simply too much."
I just spoke with Deborah. She and Patrick would like to thank the community for being so welcoming, kind, and patient as they learned the ropes. They're thankful for the opportunity and cherish the friends they've made and the great moments they've shared.
