The first New Hope and Lambertville Restaurant Week is well underway, showcasing a diverse mix of dining experiences and cuisines across the two riverfront towns.
During restaurant week, visitors have the unique opportunity to enjoy specially priced prix fixe three-course menus, signature dishes, off-menu specials, wine pairings and more offered at each of the more than two dozen participating restaurants.
The 15-day celebration runs now through Jan. 27, coinciding with the temporary closure of the New Hope-Lambertville Bridge while it undergoes scheduled repairs.
Sponsored by Union Chill Cannabis Company, The Greater Lambertville Chamber of Commerce and The Greater New Hope Chamber of Commerce, the restaurant week event was organized to provide the sister towns’ local restaurants an infusion of extra business while the bridge is closed off to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
“Usually, we see a downtick in business during the colder months and with the bridge being closed, we knew we needed to do something to bring as much business to these restaurants as we could,” said Mary Brashier, vice president of the New Hope Chamber of Commerce.

“And I’m happy that we did this now. I think it gets people up and out and thinking about supporting these local restaurants. The bridge is closed, but Lambertville and New Hope are open for business.”
During the bridge closure, the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission has set up a temporary pedestrian shuttle, which is provided at no cost to riders. The shuttle operates with two min-buses in service from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily and an extended service with one vehicle from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights.
Just a few days in, Nektar, one of the participating restaurants in the two-week event, has already seen a noticeable difference during what would've otherwise been a slow time of year, said Caelin Murphy, Nektar’s event and social media coordinator.
“With the introduction of restaurant week, there has been an increase in foot traffic, reservations and social media engagement,” Murphy said. “We are so beyond grateful for restaurant week, especially during these tough months. Thank you to everyone who has been supporting us during these times.”
